DaVinci Resolve Studio: A Cinematographer's Tool of Choice

Award-winning cinematographer Claudio Miranda has found a trusted partner in his creative workflow with Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve Studio. The Academy Award winner, known for his work on films like 'Life of Pi' and commercials for brands like Infinity, relies heavily on the editing and color grading software.

Miranda's appreciation for DaVinci Resolve Studio stems from its intuitive nature and ability to handle complex tasks quickly. In a recent commercial shoot for Infinity, he used the software to add blur, vertical blur, and multiple Power Windows to adjust lighting and correct perspective. The software's speed and flexibility impressed both the client and director.

Mini Panel and Capture Devices Complete the Workflow

In addition to DaVinci Resolve Studio, Miranda also uses the DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel for fine-tuning color grading and the UltraStudio Express and UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 capture and playback devices. He praised the Mini Panel's physical wheels, saying they enable him to work faster and make more precise adjustments.

A Home System for Testing and Personal Projects

Miranda also has a home system set up with DaVinci Resolve Studio, which he uses for testing, pre-production shooting, and color references. He appreciates the ability to switch seamlessly between editing and color grading within the same program.
