Blackmagic Design has announced the Blackmagic Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G, a bi-directional SDI-to-optical fiber converter that enables the extension of SDI connections over long distances.
The new converter allows broadcasters to place cameras up to 10 miles away from their switchers, routers, and decks using low-cost optical fiber cable. This makes it ideal for large-scale productions, such as outdoor sporting events or concerts in large venues.
