Broadcast Pix has announced the global debut of its new mobile integrated production switcher, Roadie, at IBC2015. The company will showcase the latest addition to its product lineup at the Amsterdam RAI exhibition center from September 11-15.

Roadie is a ruggedized portable production solution that features Broadcast Pix's patented Fluent Control toolset, as well as built-in HD streaming and recording. The system includes an eight-channel audio mixer, file-based macros, dual clip players, CG, multiple DVEs and keyers, ClearKey chromakey, enhanced Virtual Set Studios, and camera and device controls.

Portability and Ease of Use

Roadie is designed to be highly portable, weighing in at around 20 pounds. It features a durable aluminum alloy chassis, a removable cover for the integrated 17.3-inch HD display, and a built-in handle for easy transport.

The system can be controlled using the built-in virtual panel, optional Broadcast Pix control panels, or an iPad with the iPixPanel app. Additionally, Roadie includes a keyboard and mouse for simplified operation.

Multi-Format Capabilities

Roadie is a multi-format production switcher that features up to four SDI/HDMI and two IP inputs, as well as eight internal switcher channels (two clip servers and six graphics). The system natively supports Avid DNxHD and Apple ProRes formats, which can be imported via multiple connected network folders.

Show Transfer Utility

Roadie includes the new Show Transfer utility, which allows operators to back up and move all elements of a program between Roadie and a Broadcast Pix Flint, Granite, or Mica system installed in a separate control room.
