Shanghai Media Tech (SMT), a leading broadcast company in China, has upgraded its OB van and EFP system with Calrec's Artemis consoles. The HD9 OB van is now equipped with an Artemis Shine console, while the EFP system features an Artemis Light console.
Aiming for IP-based Broadcast Systems
SMT is expanding its capabilities for 3D/4K capture and production, visual creativity, and product development. The company's newly upgraded OB van is one of the first IP-based A/V broadcast systems in China. To support this goal, SMT needed a console with rich IP protocol and interface support like the Artemis Shine.
Experienced Users of Calrec Consoles
SMT has had some experience with the Artemis console prior to the purchase. The company's Chief Engineer, YuHai, praised the console's user-friendly interface, iPad app, and immersive monitoring function. Reviewing the market more closely, SMT made its decision on the Artemis when it became aware of the console's enormous routing and processing capabilities and its ability to integrate flawlessly with other vendors' IP products.
Installation Handled by Rightway Audio Consultants
The installation was handled by Calrec's official Chinese distributor, Rightway Audio Consultants for SMT.
