Imagine Communications has unveiled several enhancements to its Selenio Network Processor (SNP) and Magellan Control System. These updates aim to boost the capabilities of both platforms, making them more versatile for complex IP and SDI workflows.

New Audio Processing Capabilities

The latest SNP software release includes advanced audio processing features such as DSP-enabled upmixing, downmixing, and smart-mixing. These functionalities can be applied to any SNP unit that has been previously shipped. The new capabilities allow for automatic creation of consistent 5.1 and stereo outputs, even across different programs with varying audio types. This feature supports applications in broadcast workflows where multiple content sources need synchronized audio processing.

Advanced Routing and Signal Switching

The SNP also gains new audio routing features and capabilities for coordinated switching of 8K signals, enabling multi-stream 8K workflows. Imagine Communications’ commitment to flexibility ensures that these enhancements can be licensed onto existing SNP units, extending their utility.

Enhanced Magellan Control System

The Magellan Control System receives significant feature upgrades at IBC2022. This includes support for the latest versions of Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC) and Arista CloudVision Extension (CVX) Media Control Service (MCS), facilitating the deployment of bandwidth-aware network topologies.

Lectrosonics — Our Story (Film)

The system’s plug-ins architecture has been expanded, incorporating a northbound protocol translation service. This addition simplifies integration of multi-level SMPTE ST 2110 systems into environments that require a single-level database or one-to-one mapping, enhancing operational flexibility.

JPEG XS Integration

Imagine Communications continues to enhance its JPEG XS connectivity offerings. The latest release supports JPEG XS integration with SNP, enabling high-quality, low-latency interconnection workflows suitable for production environments.

The Magellan Touch operator-centric workflow system now includes expanded signal grouping functionality and enhanced driver support, further improving user experience and control over a wider range of devices.
