IBC 2018: Panasonic and IMT Vislink Unveil Wireless Camera System
In a move to revolutionize live wireless broadcasting, Panasonic and IMT Vislink have collaborated on an innovative wireless camera system that combines the best of both worlds. The joint solution features an end-to-end video capture, transmission, and receiving workflow for various broadcast applications.
At this year's IBC show, the companies will be showcasing their partnership at stand 1.A69. This marks the first time the collaboration, which pairs IMT Vislink's external wireless HCAM camera system with Panasonic's studio camera range, will be on display.
Next-Generation Wireless Camera System
The IMT Vislink HCAM transmitter has been upgraded to improve latency to just one frame on all formats, including 4K UHD. When combined with the latest software upgrade for Panasonic's AK-UC4000 studio camera, the companies claim that the system will provide a seamless workflow for live wireless broadcasting.
The HCAM represents the next generation of HEVC 4K UHD wireless transmitters, supporting applications such as ENG and sports broadcasts. The system features interchangeable, futureproof dual SFP modules supporting quad 3/6/12G SDI/HDMI/Fiber Optic/SMPTE 2022-6 HD-SDI over IP interfaces as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth control via a dedicated Android and iOS application.
