Innovative Wireless Camera Solution Demonstrated at IBC
Vislink has unveiled an enhanced version of its HCAM and UltraReceiver wireless camera solution, offering single-frame end-to-end latency for 4K UHD transmissions. This cutting-edge technology was showcased at the recent IBC exhibition.
The new solution is designed to provide greater creative flexibility for event directors, allowing seamless cuts between wired and wireless UHD resolution cameras without compromising on quality or continuity. The HCAM HEVC UHD wireless camera transmitter, which was first introduced at IBC last year, has been updated with a single-frame latency feature.
Key Features of the New Solution
- Single-frame end-to-end latency for 4K UHD transmissions
- User-interchangeable RF modules and software options
- Dual SFP modules supporting quad 3/6/12G SDI/HDMI/Fiber Optic/SMPTE 2022-6 HD-SDI over IP interfaces
- Integrated camera control with Vislink FocalPoint compatibility and direct-docking V-Lock and Anton/Bauer battery plates with integral power feed through
The UltraReceiver is a 1RU half-width, rackmount chassis receiver that features four UHF inputs with maximum-ratio combining, DVB-T and proprietary LMS-T demodulation, as well as ASI and IP capabilities. This versatile receiver is perfect for broadcast sports and ENG news coverage with wireless cameras.
Industry Impact
The new Vislink solution has the potential to revolutionize the way live events are captured and transmitted. With its single-frame latency feature, event directors can now seamlessly cut between wired and wireless UHD resolution cameras without compromising on quality or continuity. This technology is expected to have a significant impact on the broadcast industry, enabling greater creative flexibility and improving the overall viewing experience.
