After 16 years of relying on Calrec's Alpha consoles for award-winning broadcasts, MPT was ready to upgrade its audio infrastructure. The station has chosen the Calrec Artemis console, which features 240 full signal processing channels to meet the demands of its diverse programming.
Audio Workflow Upgrade
The new console is part of a larger audio workflow upgrade at MPT, which includes the integration of Calrec's Hydra2 network. This allows for seamless audio routing and coordination across multiple locations within the facility.
The Hydra2 network also enables MPT to take advantage of additional plug-in options, such as Waves SoundGrid and Dante cards, providing greater flexibility in its audio workflow.
Streamlining Production Workflow
The upgrade is designed to streamline MPT's production workflow, allowing for faster setup and coordination of productions of different sizes. This is particularly important as the station continues to expand, with plans to develop Studio A in 2019 to accommodate a 235-person studio audience.
