Sigma Releases Trio of Art Prime Lenses for Sony E-Mount Cameras
Sigma Corporation has announced the availability of three interchangeable Art prime lenses designed specifically for Sony E-mount camera systems. The new lenses, which include the Sigma 14mm F1.8 DG HSM, Sigma 70mm F2.8 DG MACRO, and Sigma 135mm F1.8 DG HSM, feature a newly developed control algorithm that optimizes autofocus drive and maximizes data transmission speed.
The lenses are compatible with Sony's Continuous AF (AF-C) and high-speed autofocus, which are not addressed by the Sigma Mount Converter MC-11. Additionally, they offer compatibility with in-camera image stabilization and aberration correction, including corrections for peripheral illumination, chromatic aberrations, and distortion.
Key Features and Benefits
- Affordable price points: $1,599 (14mm), $569.00 (70mm MACRO), and $1,399 (135mm)
- Faster autofocus drive control program tuned for each lens
- High-speed data transmission for precise subject following performance
- Compatibility with in-camera image stabilization and aberration correction
The lenses' compatibility with Sony's Fast Hybrid AF and AF-C mode delivers exceptional subject following performance, even in cameras offering only contrast AF. The company claims that the autofocus remains extremely precise, even in those E-mount cameras offering only contrast AF.
