Sound Devices Introduces SL-6 Powering and Wireless System

The latest innovation from Sound Devices has arrived, with the company announcing that its highly anticipated SL-6 powering and wireless system for its 688 mixer/recorder is now shipping.

The optional SL-6 accessory provides tighter integration for up to three dual-channel, slot-in receivers, offering wireless receiver control and monitoring direct from the 688 mixer. This groundbreaking innovation streamlines linkage between the 688 and wireless by providing a more efficient workflow solution.

SL-6 Features

  • NP1 battery slot for powering peripheral devices
  • USB charging port for convenient device charging
  • Two 12-V isolated outputs and two non-isolated direct battery outputs for powering accessories

The SL-6 also features Sound Devices' SuperSlot technology, an open wireless control and interfacing standard that has been developed in collaboration with leading wireless manufacturers.

Achieving Greater Workflow Efficiency

The SL-6 is designed to simplify production workflows by providing a centralized powering and antenna distribution hub for up to three wireless receivers. This enables producers to focus on capturing high-quality audio without worrying about the logistics of powering their equipment.
